US Democrat Joe Biden said on Thursday that he had "no doubt" that he would defeat President Donald Trump and declare his victory in the US election, insisting that voters remain patient and that the result would be announced "very soon."
"We still feel satisfied with the current situation. We have no doubt that when the count ends, we will announce Senator (Kamala) Harris and I the winners," Biden told reporters in his hometown of Wilmington, Delaware.
Biden, 77, leads Trump in the race for the 270 electoral votes that would put one of them ahead, with the Democrats' campaign asserting that they believe he has enough votes to win major battleground states that aren't yet decided, such as Pennsylvania.
