Trump and his wife Melania contracted the Coronavirus: 'We'll get it done together

Donald Trump wrote on Twitter, "Tonight, FLOTUS and I have tested positive for COVID-19. We will begin the quarantine and recovery process immediately. We will get through this together!"

Washington:

President Donald Trump has tested positive for Covid-19, turning over an already tense US election, but on Friday his doctor described him as feeling "fine" and able to fulfill his duties while in quarantine.

Trump, 74, announced for the first time on Twitter that he and first lady Melania Trump, 50, had tested positive for the virus.

The news detonated a political bomb a month before the election day.

The first direct result was the cancellation of a Trump campaign rally that was to be held in Florida later on Friday.

In polls against Democratic candidate Joe Biden before November 3, Trump used large rallies - with most people going without masks - in an effort to change the subject from his heavily criticized response to the coronavirus pandemic.

Just on Thursday, he said in a speech to a charity event in New York: "The end of the epidemic is imminent and next year will be one of the greatest years in our country's history."

But now the leader who has repeatedly questioned the seriousness of the virus - despite more than 200,000 Americans already dead - is the world's most notorious patient, proving that all White House resources cannot prevent the danger.
