“Be You the Change ...”: Burj Khalifa shines in honor of Mahatma Gandhi

 

Gandhi Jayanti: The Indian Consulate in Dubai presented its closing event from the Address Downtown, against the backdrop of the iconic Burj Khalifa to mark the culmination of celebrations of the 150th anniversary of Gandhi's birth.

The iconic skyscraper in the Emirates, Burj Khalifa, was lit up on Friday with a colorful LED display in honor of Mahatma Gandhi Jayanti, to celebrate his 151st birthday.

“Be the change you wish to see in the world” - the timeless words of Mahatma Gandhi, father of the entire nation of India. The Burj Khalifa is lit with an LED display to honor its journey and celebrate its 151st birthday, ”said the official address of Burj Khalifa on Twitter in a tweet.

Earlier, the Indian Consulate in Dubai presented its closing event from the Address Downtown, against the backdrop of the iconic Burj Khalifa marking the culmination of celebrations of the 150th anniversary of Gandhi's birth.

The Indian mission said in a tweet on Twitter that the program began with Gandhi's famous Bagan "Vaishnava Jana".

Gandhi Jayanti was also celebrated on October 2 as the International Day of Nonviolence due to the strategy of nonviolence adopted by Gandhi to help India gain independence from British colonial rule in 1947.

Consulate officials are also carrying out a cleaning campaign on the mission premises. With the support of the Indian community, 151 trees will be planted in various locations to mark the occasion.
