An Indian tech startup is among 10 winners to be awarded same-day contracts worth up to £ 53,000 to accelerate the development of their innovations after presenting their solutions directly to military leaders in the UK, US, NATO and the defense industry.
114 AI Innovation LLP, an organization registered in Delhi two years ago, got the opening of International Space Day by contemplating "Spacewise" for real-time information analysis.
The UK / US Joint Stadium Initiative aims to find, finance and accelerate innovation and technology that will give an advantage to military personnel and operations in the space field.
“An exploitation toolkit for visualizing, accessing and analyzing multiple input streams of data for advanced command and control in space using cognitive AI,” reads Spicewise's 114 AI Blueprint brief.
"This toolkit allows home operations with allies and the purchase and sale of escorts by allowing the visualization and evaluation of a number of exclusive sources of information in real time," he notes.
The International Space Speech Day marks the first time the United Kingdom and the United States have gathered to award defense contracts based on a stadium-style event, similar to TV shows such as "Dragon's Den" on BBC.
It is also the first time that countries have awarded joint defense innovation contracts to an offshore institution and also the first time that same-day contracts have been awarded to the industry in this way by the British Ministry of Defense.
“It has captured the imaginations of innovators and militaries not only across the UK and US, but around the world,” said Deputy Air Marshal Harvey Smith, UK Space Director.
"It has achieved many firsts in the world and we look forward to building on its success as we strive to accelerate innovation and cutting-edge technology to the frontline faster than ever before with new ways to work with the industry to make sure we stay ahead of our common adversaries and the threats they pose."
The competition was open to innovators and entrepreneurs from all over the world and was submitted through the UK Defense and Security Accelerators (DASA),
with the help of the Starburst Accelerator. It is specifically designed to support technology startups and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and harness the power of their "ingenuity and innovation".
Fifteen proposals from startups and tech innovators competed for funding by promoting military leaders in the United Kingdom, the United States and NATO after being selected to participate in the International Space Day from among dozens of entries from around the world.
“Fair days open the door for authorities to work with organizations that focus on business,” said Dr. Will Roeper, Assistant Secretary of the US Air Force for acquisitions, technology and logistics.
“Competing for technology outside the boundaries of our fence has been a major topic for the US Air Force and Space Forces.
Partnering with our allies to compete globally is natural evolution. Space is particularly exciting with the many ideas these companies have put on the table, and I am confident that international space cooperation has Promising future ".
Other contest winners included three British companies - Clutch Space Systems Ltd, Riskaware Ltd, Telespazio Vega UK and Spire Global UK; Five US companies - Cognitive Space Inc, precursor SPC, Rocket Communications, Slingshot Aerospace Inc, and Swim.ai Inc; And one from Australia - Clearbox Systems Pty Ltd.
The scheme is jointly funded by the United Kingdom's Defense Science and Technology Laboratory (DSTL), the Royal Air Force and the US Air Force.
“The International Space Speech Day represents an innovative way of working, ensuring that the UK and US defense can keep pace with the rapid pace of commercial technology development,” said Gary Aitkenhead, CEO of DSTL.
"We aim to connect world-class space innovations with military users at a rapid pace, supported by business training and marketing," he said.
As part of the scheme, a large coalition of DSTL, DASA, the Royal Air Force, UK Strategic Command, US Air Force, US Space Forces, and the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) gathered to find, finance, and speed - tracking the best ideas from novice innovators to the front lines.
Starburst Aerospace acts as an industry partner on the International Space Speech Day and carries out specialist training and mentoring on its behalf through the Allied Defense Accelerator Program.
