Washington:

The World Bank said Tuesday that it has authorized $ 12 billion for developing countries to fund the purchase and distribution of Covid-19 vaccines, evaluations and treatment.

The financial institution said in a statement that the funding "aims to direct vaccination of up to one billion people."

The cash is the stage of a full-fledged World Bank Group (WBG) deal worth one hundred and sixty billion dollars through June 2021 designed to help developing countries fight the novel coronavirus pandemic.

"This funding package helps send a signal to the Pharmaceutical Research and Preparation Foundation that people in developing countries also want safe and gentle vaccines for Covid-19," the announcement said.

It will also provide funding and technical support so that developing countries can prepare to deploy vaccines on a large scale, in coordination with international partners.

The President of the World Bank Group, David Malpass, said in the statement that access to safe and effective vaccines and "enhanced delivery systems is essential to change the course of the epidemic and help countries suffering from disastrous economic and financial impacts to move towards a resilient recovery."

The funding "will also direct countries to gain access to Covid-19 tests and treatments, and amplify immunization capabilities to help fitness structures effectively stabilize vaccines," the announcement added.

Funding was expected to be approved as Malpass announced the project in late September.

While vaccines are not now considered on the market, Malpass pointed out in an interview with the French newspaper Le Figaro day in and day out that it used to be assembled due to the complex vaccine dispensing process.
