The Nobel Committee reported that the Nobel Peace Prize was awarded Friday to the World Food Program for its efforts in fighting hunger and improving conditions for peace in conflict areas.
The World Food Program has been honored for "its efforts to combat hunger,
for its contribution to improving conditions of peace in conflict-affected areas and for its act as a driving force in efforts to prevent hunger from being used as a weapon in war and conflict." He said.
