UAE Cricket Council awaits final confirmation from BCCI to host IPL

The next edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) are getting to be played within the United Arab Emirates, IPL board chairman Brijesh Patel confirmed on Tuesday.

The Emirates Cricket Board (ECB) confirmed to ANI on Wednesday that it's awaiting official confirmation from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to host the Indian Premier League (IPL). 

“We are awaiting the final confirmation from BCCI regarding being the host country.

 There is also the final condition for BCCI to obtain approval from the Indian government to host the IPL outside of the  India, "the Emirates Cricket Board said during a press release to ANI.

The next edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) are getting to be played within the United Arab Emirates, IPL board chairman Brijesh Patel confirmed on Tuesday.

The IPL 2020 edition was scheduled to begin on March 29 of this year, but the tournament has been postponed indefinitely due to the coronavirus pandemic.

With the postponement of the T20 World Cup opening the sets for a full-fledged IPL, the glitzy event's board of governors will meet in a week or 10 days to plan their next course of action,

 seeing the UAE as the host this year. An IPL early was made between September and November  possible by the ICC's decision on Monday to postpone the T20 World Cup in Australia, scheduled for October-November, due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
