India To be Equiped Rafale Jets With HAMMER Missiles Under Emergency Order: Report

Government sources say the order for the HAMMER missiles is being processed and France has agreed to supply them at a short notice for the Rafale combat aircraft.

New Delhi: 

With the Rafale jets arriving in the country in the middle of a dispute with 

China, the Indian Air Force is further boosting the capabilities of the combat 

aircraft by equipping it with the HAMMER missiles from France.


The order for dead end HAMMER missiles capable of destroying any type of

 targets at a distance of about 60 to 70 km is being processed under the 

emergency procurement powers given to the armed forces by the government of 

the First Minister Narendra Modi.


"The order for the HAMMER missiles is being processed and the French

 authorities have agreed to supply them to us at a short notice for our Rafale 

combat aircraft," government sources told news agency ANI.
